Album ART Initiative; A Creative Collaboration: Call to Artists

January 13th, 2011 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

Hello To our Artistic Friends!!

We are launching a new CD in March! We are interested in collaborating with artists to create visual experience that reflects the heart of our album.

Although we are effectively looking for ONE piece we’re not fans of the word “contest”. So we hope you see this as more of a cooperative experience with multiple ideas and one end result.

The artist chosen will be recognized in the CD liner notes and credits, receive $50 and a copy of the final product.

Also, we will be displaying ALL entries and reveal the chosen piece at our Gallery night Feb. 26th, 2011.

Would you like to participate?

Here’s how it works…

Over the next two weeks, create your piece and submit by Jan 25th in jpg form to janahollandmusic@yahoo.com or you call 920.883.6874 to work out a drop off time.

ALBUM CONCEPT:

The heart of our project is; A commitment to relationship and community when the going gets tough. To be reconciled and to love with abandon.

POTENTIAL ALBUM NAMES:

Reconciled

KEY LYRICS:

“Child of the Humble Sod
Wed with the breath of God
Arise, thou hast inherited the Sky
Harmonies and the mystery of love.”

“Sing my woes, Sing my joy,
Sing my friends, now don’t be coy.
Sing my sad and pretty song,
Sing oh sing oh sing along”

“My baby done me wrong, listen to the mockingbirds song. Listen for the shrieks as they half-heartedly sing… I am not home among these barren trees. Maybe I’ll come back in the spring when all is green”

“Bitter Honey, Sin and Bones, Lady Wisdom lead me home… remember your first love”

“They say the color of love
Is that of the snow white dove
The morning star
Guides all who open their hearts.”

“New land, new love
Can I share with you
Share with you
My heavy burdens
New land new life
And love that grows
In our garden”

“no eye has seen
no ear has heard
no mind conceived
what God has for those who love”

“Nothing wrong with being jealous for what’s ours
No harm in reaching for the stars
You look out for me and I’ll look out for you
At the end of the day we’re tried and true”

“And you met me in the desert and you carried my heavy load
And my heart was filled with sorrow for the things that I had done
But we wept and kept on walking to the freedom of the sun
Yes, we wept but kept on walking to the freedom of the sun”

We appreciate your kind and creative consideration.
~peace and love~
